Literature Text
they rush by,
heads down,
clutching starbucks
to keep their fragile fingers
animated in their omnipresent conversation.
their words fill the stationary air and
continue to absorb the limited area of the world.
they do not divert their eyes
from their hands,
from their phones,
from their work.
too busy to greet another pedestrian,

I want you to be a stranger
I want you to be a stranger
So I could meet you again
I would say 'you look gorgeous'
I would ask your name
I would smile
You would smile back
I would ask you to dance
And we would dance to the music

And you wouldn't doubt a minute
I would walk to my room whit you
We could get naked and sleep together
I want you to be a stranger
So we could meet again
And fall in love with you
I would say I saw in your eyes you were perfect
And you would fall in love with me
I want you to be a stranger

when many tongues unfurl their lies
take shelter here within my heart
when others would so quick depart.
Such solace sought within my words
as elsewhere's neither seen nor heard,
for in this faithful love of mine
a true companion you will find.
So find your peace within my soul:
the other half to make your whole.

Try to remember:
This is NOT a formula for altruism.
This is NOT a masqueraded apology.
This is NOT a dysphoric cry for help.
This is robbing word banks for lines,
then cutting the front of the lexicon.
This is adding insult to libel,
injury to a broken mandible
one that never spoke anyway.
if you've felt like this before,
stab me three times in the jaw.
Qu'est ce que l'amour?
if this is your second time reading this,
slam your head into an oven
